No, Wusthof knives are not dishwasher safe. The dishwasher will dull the blades of any high quality knife, because the blades rub against the plastic basket. The knives can also damage your dishwasher and shorten the life of that appliance as well. Also, it’s just not safe to try to grab knives that sharp from out of the dishwasher–you’ll likely be cut.
If you accidentally put your Wusthof knife in the dishwasher, it’s not ruined, but do not do it again. Instead, hand wash your knife with warm soapy water with a dishwashing cloth immediately after use. It’s important to wash them quickly after use, because if they sit with food particles on them, this can damage the blade. The food particles will cause spots to form and this can even cause corrosion of the blade. To get the longest life out of your high-quality Wusthof knives, you should only hand wash, and sharpen them regularly.
